On every level - practical, tasteful, moral, philosophical, ontological, theological - consumer-type-general-use-generative-AI sucks for you and for everyone around you so PLEASE for the love of all that is holy stop using it

I wrote about 5000 words to fully explain why you shouldn't use AI, but my main hope is that people will read what I'm writing here and stop using generative AI. If changing your mind is my main goal, then see my summary below with some links to back up each point. If you're masochistic enough to want to read my whole article with all its passion and finger-pointing, then please click here. So if you want clarification on some points below, refer to my full article or ask me about it. Otherwise, here's why you shouldn't use generative AI like ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, Claude, etc.

A little bit of context to drive home the summary: AI is not sentient and it is not omniscient - it is a computer program that predicts the sequence of words most likely to make sense to a human given a certain input (in this case, the prompt that one enters). It uses a technology similar to what your phone's predictive keyboard uses, only it's been given basically all of recorded human history and thought to make predictions instead of whatever you happen to be typing on your phone. Generative AI like ChatGPT is trained to sound more accurate (note that it is not being trained to BE more accurate, only to SOUND more accurate) on the data you give it, and this data is also used for other things like advertising, so by using it, you help train it and help the companies running them to make more money. Inversely then, by not using it you help it not to get "smarter" and opt out of making tech CEOs more wealthy for making a product that is proving to be largely detrimental to the quality of society.

By using generative AI such as ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc.:

• You are using a machine that, by its fundamental design, cannot guarantee accurate or true results in matters of math, language, computing, research, etc. (source)
• You are using a system which will, by its design, always be vulnerable to cybersecurity attack vectors as simple as a "hacker" changing the color of a font or wording a sentence in just the right way - in other words, if Microsoft goes ahead and integrates Copilot so deeply into the operating system, just about any Joe Schmoe hacker could get into your PC/smartphone/device in the course of an afternoon (source)
• You will allow your brain to atrophy as you hand off more of your thinking-functions to the machine (source)
• You help to reduce the creations of humans to, in a word, slop - whether in the realm of writing, music or the visual arts (see my article above)
• You allow a company to dial up to ten the collection of your data, the profiling/stalking of you, the amount of ads scientifically designed to extract the most amount of money possible from you (another source)
• You help oil the machine of the military industrial complex, which will help militaries using AI to kill people more efficiently, and with the innacuracies inherent in the design of AI, probably lead to more innocent deaths at the hands of the military (source)
• You ruin the land, water and air quality of humans and animals near acres-large data centers being built specifically for the purpose of AI (a source, another source) (which, in a shortage of housing and jobs, is especially bad now since AI data centers create very few jobs since it's mostly just designed to house computers - there's a few security members, maybe a few on-site technicians per data center?)
• You help create more billionaires and trillionaires (my atheist friends can already see the problems with this - if you're Christian, you should see the problems in this too)
• You help develop the world's easiest-to-use instant scam/sexual exploitation/deception machine (a source, another source)
• You chip away at the humanity and creativity God so lovingly crafted into you and replace it with whatever corporate-sponsored ideology or advertising the shareholders deemed most profitable that week (see my article above)
• ...and lastly... c'mon, did you seriously not watch Terminator?
